If you’re like me and you have an analytical mind, then the act of positive affirmations can sound so corny but the reality is… There is science-based evidence that can explain how these actually work. And that’s what I’m going to explain to you today!
Before I teach you the HOW, I think you need to understand the WHY first.
Your brain is a sponge and soaks up beliefs, and over your lifetime, those beliefs fill your mind and become a major part of your identity. What’s cool about this?… You can actually change those identifying beliefs if you’re willing to incorporate new affirmations into your life.
There have been actual brain imaging studies that prove that when an individual visualizes themselves achieving a particular goal, along with positively affirming that to be the reality… Your brain lights up as you’re thinking, and saying those things as if you are actually experiencing that thing. The more you do this, the better.
The way you actually can create change in your life, is to bring what you want to your mind more and more until you start to actually believe it.
People who actually self affirm calmness and peace in themselves, their brains will actually produce lower cortisol levels.
So what does all this mean? This PROVES that you can help control your emotions, and stress levels.
Knowing yourself is based in the past, learning yourself is based on the present. We’re trying to go from the present, into the future and part of that is doing the work to discover who you are, and how you can improve.

Do More Reflective Practices: You can start with journaling as a way to explore both your conscious and unconscious thoughts. Our minds are complex, and journaling is an excellent tool to unravel them.
Practice Meditation: I know meditating is difficult for so many people, but instead of looking at meditation as a state you’re trying to get to of “no thoughts”, instead realize that meditation is actually about sitting still in one place so that you can properly observe your thoughts, process them, and work through why they exist and what should be done about them.
You will learn more about yourself by observing your thoughts without resistance. Meditation helps you confront your mind and understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.
Become Thought Aware: Pay close attention to your thoughts. Emotions are often preceded by thoughts, and by acknowledging these thoughts when triggered, you can take steps to change your patterns moving forward.

1️⃣ First things first, let’s talk about finding your “North Star.” It’s like setting your life’s GPS to what truly matters to you. What do you want your life to look like, and what’s your ultimate purpose? Let’s align your decisions with that guiding star!
2️⃣ You’ve got skills and talents, right? So do I! But it’s essential to choose paths that align with your North Star, not just the ones that bring in the big bucks. Trust me; fulfillment is the name of the game.
3️⃣ Speaking of fulfillment, ever noticed how some choices just feel right deep down in your gut? Well, there’s actual science behind it! Your gut feeling, or intuition, is a powerful decision-making tool linked to your enteric nervous system. It’s your second brain, and it’s worth paying attention to!
4️⃣ To make even better choices, try the “10-10-10 rule.” Ask yourself how you’ll feel about a decision in 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years. It’s like peering into the future to see if your choice stands the test of time!
5️⃣ Lastly, remember to pause and reflect. Give your brain some time to shift from emotional reactions to logical reasoning. This simple step can save you from impulsive decisions you might regret later.
